2026 State of the Agency
Anthony D’Agostino, CEO of Peter & Paul Community Services, welcomes people to the 2026 State of the Agency.
Reflecting on Our Progress. Looking Toward What’s Next.
On September 1, Peter & Paul Community Services welcomed board members, volunteers, partner agencies, social workers, community advocates, and supporters to our annual State of the Agency.
The gathering was an opportunity to pause and reflect on the work we’ve accomplished together, share what we’re seeing across our community, and look ahead to the opportunities and challenges that will shape our work in the year ahead.
A Year of Progress and Partnership
Our work is made possible through the dedication of our staff and the many people and organizations who stand alongside us.
During the State of the Agency, Anthony D’Agostino, CEO of Peter & Paul Community Services (PPCS), and Amanda Laumeyer, COO of PPCS, shared updates on the programs, partnerships, and initiatives helping our neighbors move beyond homelessness and toward greater stability.
Our partners celebrated the progress made together at the Community Campus and beyond. City fo St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer, Sonia Deal, CEO of Three Steps Home, Julie Komanetsky, Director of Vincentian Services of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Louis, and Gregory Faupel, Community Support Liaison of NOVUS Health, reflected on the lives impacted through partnership with PPCS.
From emergency shelter and supportive services to housing and access to care, our approach to serving the community continues to focus on meeting people where they are and helping create a path forward.
Responding to a Changing Community
The need for housing and supportive services continues to evolve, and so does our response.
The State of the Agency provided an opportunity to talk about the challenges facing our community, including the ongoing shortage of affordable housing and the immediate needs of more than 160 residents displaced by the Mark Twain Hotel closure.
We also highlighted the importance of collaboration. No single organization can address homelessness alone. Progress depends on a coordinated community response and strong partnerships across agencies, service providers, volunteers, donors, and people with lived experience.
A Look Inside the Community Campus
Following the presentation, guests had the opportunity to tour the Peter & Paul Community Campus and see our work in action.
The campus brings together emergency shelter, housing, case management, medical care, and supportive services, creating a place where people can access multiple forms of support without the need for transportation as they work toward stability.
For many of our guests, the tour offered a firsthand look at how these services come together to help our neighbors move from homelessness toward a place to call home.
Looking Ahead
The State of the Agency isn’t just a look at where we’ve been. It’s a chance to consider where we’re going.
As we look toward the year ahead, we remain focused on expanding access to housing, strengthening partnerships, responding to emerging needs, and finding new ways to help more people build stable futures.
And we know we cannot do that work alone.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, supports our mission, and continues to walk alongside our neighbors.
Together, we’re building a stronger St. Louis where everyone has a place to call home.
Continue the Conversation
The State of the Agency was just the beginning of an important day at Peter & Paul Community Services. Following the event, we launched Home for All, a community fundraising campaign that brought people across St. Louis together around the belief that everyone deserves a place to call home.
