New Healthy Housing Tower Program
For someone experiencing chronic homelessness, having stable housing changes everything.
We’re proud to introduce the Healthy Housing Tower Program, a new housing initiative at the Peter & Paul Community Campus designed to serve people experiencing chronic homelessness. Peter & Paul Community Services (PPCS) has dedicated an entire floor to providing the specialized housing and supportive services our most vulnerable neighbors need to achieve lasting stability.
The Healthy Housing Tower Program offers long-term housing for men and women while helping residents address the mental, physical, and social barriers that often accompany chronic homelessness.
“When someone has been struggling for years, access to shelter is only the first step,” Anthony D’Agostino, PPCS CEO, said. “People experiencing chronic homelessness need specialized support. The new Healthy Housing Tower Program allows our staff to provide the care they need to build a foundation for long-term success.”
How does this differ from our emergency shelter, the Jugan Shelter?
Jugan Shelter
- Emergency (short-term) shelter for up to six months
- Men only
- Semi-private sleeping spaces
- Access to case management, life skills training, support groups, occupational therapy, and additional resources.
Healthy Housing Tower Program
- Housing for up to 18 months
- Men or women
- Private room and bathroom
- Intensive, individualized support designed for people experiencing long-term homelessness, in addition to case management, life skills training, support groups, and occupational therapy.
Both programs provide a safe place to stay for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, but they serve different needs. Many guests at the Jugan Shelter need time to rest, save up, and find an affordable place to live. For someone facing more significant barriers, our Health Housing Tower Program provides the comprehensive support, specialized care, and longer-term housing needed to build a strong foundation for lasting success.
